LISTEN: Three 6 Mafia - On Sum Chrome ft. UGK
DOWNLOAD Three 6 Mafia - On Sum Chrome ft. UGK (MP3)
This Three 6 Mafia track is allegedly the last thing UGK's Pimp C recorded before he passed. And that is the only reason this song would ever be posted here.

NEWS: Pimp C Found Dead
I can't believe this. So sad.
"Pimp C, real name Chad Butler -- and one half of the rap duo UGK, was found dead in a hotel room this morning. He was 33. L.A. County Fire responded to a 911 call at the Mondrian Hotel, located on trendy Sunset Strip in Hollywood. They arrived to his sixth floor hotel room to find him dead in bed. UGK is best known for appearing on the Jay-Z track "Big Pimpin'" in 2000, and more recently with Outkast on the song "International Player's Anthem (I Choose You)." Pimp C had just performed with fellow rapper Too Short at the "House of Blues" in L.A. on Saturday night." (source)

NEWS: Pimp C On Havoc
UGK's very own Pimp C still gives the most entertaining and open interview. This one is from Ozone Magazine (scan) and he talks in thinly veiled terms about Havoc.

"Even when we have disagreements in the South amongst each other and even when we don't see eye to eye down here, that don't mean niggas from other areas can attack a nigga from down here and think that we won't posse up with each other and get dead on yo muthafukkin ass. For instance, this lil' mutherfuckin' small framed lil' bitch ass n!ggas from New York-you know who I'm talking about, one of them lil' niggas Pac took off the map way back when-tried to diss T.I. to sell a couple of records. If any nigga from any part of the world gets on mutherfuckin record and says something about Young Jeezy or Ludacris or Jermaine Dupri or me or Plies nigga from any part of the world or anybody down here,we're gonna unite like the Bloods and the Crips." NEWS: Young Jeezy Speaks On Pimp C
I'm getting a little sick of all these 30/40+ year olds arguing like little kids, but here's what Young Jeezy had to say about Pimp C's most recent comments.

AHH: Just so we’re clear, Pimp questioned the figure 17.5. He’s been adamant that he wasn’t referring to you, but people are wondering if it’s still a slight to you since you go by Mr. 17.5.
Young Jeezy: If he ain’t referring to me he ain’t referring to me but first of all I’m one hundred, I’m a real street ni**a and I ain’t gotta stress that. And nor will I get myself or anybody in my circle indicted to prove nothing to no ni**a, but at the end of the day that what it is and that’s what I’m standing on. He been gone six years, he don’t know what’s been going on in these streets. And to be honest with you, nobody ain’t got to go shop over that way anyway. Come on man, this real man, this the world. You can go to the West Coast, you can go wherever you need to go to do what you got to do, ain’t just one store. [laughing]
He also debunks the $60K for a guest verse thing and calls himself amazing. Read the full interview here.

NEWS: Pimp C Interview
I just read the Pimp C interview in XXL Magazine on my way to work and was pleased to see Eskay announce XXL put the whole thing up online. Great interview with a bunch of great quotables and moments of humor/gangster. On the subway this morning I even considered going old-school internet and posting a scan, because it was so entertaining. Here's an excerpt.

Pimp C: Don’t single out Jeezy, because he ain’t the only one that’s kickin’ numbers that don’t match. Have you ever sold drugs?
XXL: Excuse me?
Pimp C: Well, you do know there’s no water around Atlanta. So all the drugs in Atlanta either come from Miami or Texas. Ain’t no way those prices match up. If work in Texas is $15,000 to $16,000 a ki, you gotta pay a muthafucka $2,000 to $2,500 a bird to bring it back to your city. How you gonna sell it for lower than you got it? A muthafucka might be cold and go down to San Antonio to buy it straight from the muthafuckas that get it across the border for $10,000. But news flash: I know you muthafuckas ain’t comin down here to get it, ’cause we woulda saw ya. See, real niggas don’t swap it out. We get ya on the next batch. But Young Jeezy is my brother. I done made records with the nigga. I’m not gonna side with the media against my brother. It’s just that these dope prices… It ain’t even just the South. It’s a bunch of niggas lyin’ on records. Y’all ain’t gettin’ it like this on the East Coast, neither. Just stop, ’cause y’all know y’all gotta come get this work from us. Chuuch.

LISTEN: David Banner - Spare Clips (Full Mixtape)
DOWNLOAD David Banner - Spare Clips: The Mixtape (MP3) via TSS

I've been wanting to be a fan of David Banner's for a long time, but I always liked him as a public person more than as a rapper/producer. This mixtape showcases a few new elements and features Snoop Dogg, Akon, Lil’ Wayne, Bun B, Lil Jon, T.I., Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Pimp C, E-40, Lil Boosie, and others.
