VIDEO: Kanye West - Stronger ft Daft Punk @ Grammies

Kanye West wonn best rap album and best rap song at last night's 2008 Grammy Awards and showed us he's one of the best live performers, slim pickins in our beloved genre, during 'Stronger' with the enigmatic Daft Punk fellas.

Kanye West remixed Michael Jackson for the 25th Anniversary of Thriller. Well, really all he does is adlib and he added an extra sample of Kraftwerk's ´The Model´. For those who don´t know, Kraftwerk are the original electro artists and most likely idols of Daft Punk. Good to see Kanye at least look into his history a little on this one I guess. Oh and that picture is MJ´s recent disguise. Interesting. Other remixes included with the album include ones by will.i.am, Fergie and Akon.

The Daily Swarm reports that Will.i.am remixed his song 'I Got it From My Momma' and included a Daft Punk sample. Hm original. Then he did a video for it (watch below) before Daft Punk actually gave him permission to use the sample. They ended up denying the request. Ouch. More info here.


Even though I love the Daft Punk track sampled, I still can't listen to this awful song. Cool video though if you turn the sound off.

Jerome sent me this great 8 minute mix of 'Stronger'. He decided to mess with all the samples that go behind Kanye West's 'Stronger'. The result was a mix featuring the original Edwin Birdsong that Daft Punk sampled for 'Harder, Better, Stronger, Faster' then it goes into Kanye's version and then a blend of Diplo's and A-track's remixes.
