A giant 7 foot Lego figure washed up on the beaches of the beautiful Dutch town of Zandvoort. I kid you not. Is this reconnaissance for the impending Lego invasion? Is this the smiley face fronting the evil legion of Lego doom?

For the most part I managed to miss the entire Grunge and alternative rock era as I was sucked in completely by Hip Hop at the time, but there were a handful of exceptions. Smashing Pumpkins was the one main exception. After a break up a few years ago Billy brought back the catalog and the drummer, replaced James Iha and Darcy and started the new run with a small show in Paris a few days ago. The third show was today at the legendary Pinkpop Festival in the Netherlands. It's the oldest annual festival in the world and has been running for 38 years straight in a town not far from where I grew up.
